Diagnostic Laboratory of Oklahoma (DLO)
Location: Oklahoma City, OK
Hours: Night Shift (4-10 hour shifts) rotating weekends and holidays
Essential Functions:
Report to work on time and prepared for each scheduled shift
Perform all assigned duties and processes, including tasks for which you are fully qualified and those within your demonstrated capabilities
Maintain a positive, professional, and supportive attitude throughout the workday
Work collaboratively as a team member and contribute to a respectful, productive work environment
Responsibilities:
Perform tests in microbiology and assist with specimen processing as needed.
Follow employer policies, work with fellow employees in a professional, productive manner, and perform instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
Required Knowledge:
General laboratory knowledge, including the ability to use computers.
Must have knowledge of QA and QC.
Previous experience in Microbiology or Molecular Biology preferred.
Qualifications:
AS degree in Medical Lab Technology or BS in Medical Technology.
ASCP MT/MLT certification or equivalent or be eligible for national MT/MLT certification.
Special Requirements:
Ability to maintain a professional courteous and pleasant attitude in times of heavy workload and stress.
Teamwork with fellow employees is a must.
Keyboard skills are important.
Good customer service skills, professional appearance and attitude.
Must work overtime or other shifts if required.
Able to work 10 hour shifts, rotating weekends and holidays.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
Normal performance may require lifting and carrying objects: 1 to 10 pounds frequently; 11‑25 occasionally; 36‑50 seldom; over 50 without assistance.
Ability to stand and work at the bench for long periods of time.
Frequent walking and/or standing.
May be required to use a wide variety of manual and automated pipettes and laboratory instruments and apparatuses all of which demand significant manual dexterity.
