Trailer Mechanic / Maintenance
We are looking for a reliable Trailer Mechanic/Maintenance individual who will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance and general repairs on tractor and trailer units to meet HASA and DOT standards.
Locations Available: Pittsburg; Pomona.
Responsibilities
Implements and monitors a preventative maintenance program to assure cost effective maintenance and a scheduled maintenance program
Maintains a complete inventory system through recording of all expenditures and income of each vehicle, maintenance equipment, fuel, repair parts, supplies, etc
Examines reports for accuracy on each vehicle and piece of equipment repaired; writes reports on vehicles and equipment repaired.
Keeps maintenance and repair records; performs preventive maintenance on all departmental vehicles; orders repair parts.
Checks all repair work performed in shop for completeness. This includes physical inspections and road tests before vehicle is turned back to user departments.
Performs related duties as required.
Diagnoses and repairs trailer components such as doors, floors and side panels.
Performs preventive maintenance (PMs) on tractor and trailer equipment including routine technical repairs and completing repair orders.
Documents work order details within the Company's internal order and billing program.
Ensures proper documentation is complete, including permits, repair orders, filing, etc.
Abides by all Company policies and safety rules and assists in maintaining a clean, safe work environment.
Addresses sales & customer concerns as they arise effectively and promptly.
Requirements
Proven experience around trailers
Knowledge of procedures and guideline for emergency situations
Organizational and multitasking abilities
Active listener with good communication skills
Sound judgement
High school diploma
