Join American Commercial Barge Line as a Marine Electrician! In this vital role, you’ll maintain, repair, and install electrical equipment to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our boats. Your expertise will keep our fleet running smoothly while meeting the highest company and industry safety standards.
What You'll Be Doing
Inspect and service electrical equipment during overhaul to ensure safe operations and prevent future breakdowns.
Track, schedule, and perform preventive maintenance on any electrical vessel system.
Research and order parts for repairs while maintaining proper inventory to support emergency repairs.
Complete service calls on vessels to make required repairs as needed.
Work with maintenance crew, vendor, and vessel crew when needed to complete repairs such as electrical, plumbing, or mechanical repairs.
Advise leadership and boat crew of technical information and electrical guidelines to ensure safe and effective operations.
Document all work performed in the maintenance database.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
What We Are Looking For You will need to have:
High School Diploma/GED
Valid Driver's License
Reliable transportation to and from work
5+ years marine electrical maintenance experience and repair of associated equipment
Ability to acquire TWIC
Ability to be on-call weekends and nights during assigned weeks
Ability to occasionally travel overnight
Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen
Even better if you have the following:
Prior towboat troubleshooting and repair experience
Electrician Certification/License
Experience working aboard boats
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
