Tax- Business Tax Services – Private Tax – Corporate Manager

The opportunity

EY Private Tax is a growing practice within the organization, and you'll see that growth reflected in your career. The team focuses on serving privately held companies from family owned businesses to private equity owned companies. These clients are high‑growth private companies. As more companies choose to stay private, we have an ever‑increasing group of companies from start‑ups to multi‑billion‑dollar global private companies. With a diverse portfolio of challenging work, you'll make an impact on technically demanding tax planning and compliance projects, and opportunities to progress to senior manager.

Your Key Responsibilities

Preparing or reviewing federal and state tax returns for U.S. corporations and some partnerships, including foreign reporting requirements for cross‑border tax compliance.

Providing tax research, memoranda drafting, and assistance in quantitative modeling for private client tax advisory services.

Identifying and communicating significant tax matters to Senior Managers, Managing Directors, and Partners.

Liaising and relationship development with other service lines and subject‑matter professionals.

Building effective long‑term relationships with clients and tailoring services to their unique needs.

Communicating complex tax issues to non‑tax professionals and clients.

Maintaining technical expertise through continuous learning and knowledge sharing.

Managing, coaching, and developing a team of tax professionals, reviewing work, and ensuring they have the tools and opportunities to excel.

Identifying and reacting to risks and opportunities to improve services and processes.

Skills And Attributes For Success

Bachelor's degree in a related field and tax, business, or financial planning experience.

CPA certification or membership in The Bar.

Prior experience with ASC 740 tax provisions.

Excellent collaboration and negotiation skills, confident in challenging colleagues and stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.

Minimum of 5 years of work experience in professional services or a professional tax organization.

Commitment to continuing learning.

Proficiency with tax software such as RIA, CCH IntelliConnect, OneSource, BNA or LexisNexis.

Ability to work in a balanced hybrid environment and willingness to travel as needed.

Experience managing, coaching, and mentoring junior colleagues.

What We Offer You

A comprehensive compensation and benefits package rewarded for performance and valued contributions, with a base salary range of $106,500 to $195,100 USD for all U.S. locations and $127,700 to $221,700 for metro areas. Additional benefits include medical, dental, pension, 401(k), and paid time off.

A hybrid work model with most client‑serving roles working together in person 40‑60% of the time over the course of engagements.

A flexible vacation policy allowing you to choose your vacation time, with additional leave for EY Paid Holidays, Winter/Summer breaks, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves.
