Position Summary Center For Family Services isseeking a full time Assistant Program Director for our Juntos Programlocated in Bridgewater, Somerset County, NJ. Juntos provides important services to unaccompanied minorchildren who immigrated into the United States. Servicesinclude;temporary shelter and support with family unification andhomestudyandpost release services. Family Reunification is the Junto's programprimary goal. The Assistant Program Director will assiststhe Senior Program Director in the provision of shelter services in accordancewith the requirements Department of Community Affairs, Department of Childrenand Families and Office of refugee Services in operating a licensed shelter. Bilingual/Multilingual preferred but not required.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assists the Senior Program Director in the provision ofshelter services in accordance with the requirements Department ofCommunity Affairs, Department of Children and Families and Office ofrefugee Services in operating a licensed shelter.
Ensures a structured shelter program includingorganized scheduling of meals, life skills education, recreation, medicaland goal setting groups as needed.
Coordinates delivery of services with Nursing,educational and clinical staff
Provides direct supervision to Senior ResidentialCounselors, Residential Counselors, Cooks and Maintenance staff in theJuntos Program consistent with stated goals and objectives, Day, Eveningand Weekends and maintains documentation of relevant supervisoryissues.
Instructs guides and counsels staff and youthinformally throughout their interactions in day to day activities
Creates and manages the staff schedule to ensureservice delivery and maintains compliance to ratio requirements
Monitors contracted levels of service, completion ofrequired documentation, and record maintenance.
Maintains liaisons with ORR and other contractingagency personnel under the direction of theSenior Program Director
If needed, Co-leads recreation and physical educationactivities scheduled during shift
Coordinates daily schedule, which includes visits fromattorneys, ICE and ORR representatives
Provides one-to-one assistance and engages youth,models Nurtured Heart and appropriate de-escalation techniques
Substitutes in the event of Support Counselor absence.
Provides direct level of supervision to youth in theprogram, if needed.
Ensures staff are assigned to transport youth for courthearings, reunification with sponsors, and medical appointments
Provides staff training on ORR policy and procedures,nurtured heard, and coaches staff in best practices
Ensures that the physical site of the program is cleanand orderly, as set forth by policy and procedures
Assists Counselors in teaching youth with daily lifeskills, education, and chores in the program
Serves as a member of the CFS Supervisory Team, worksclosely with CQI, and PSA compliance manager to prevent incidents and ifthey do occur, ensures proper protocols are followed
Serves as a secondary liaison with ORR
Qualifications
Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Education,Psychology, Sociology, or other relevant behavioral science, Master'spreferred
5 - 7 years of progressive employment experience with asocial services or childcare agency or organization
Excellent Communication and Organizational skills
Federal and State regulations requireemployees inthis position to be fully vaccinated. According to the CDC, fullyvaccinated means to have received the initial vaccination and at least onebooster shot. As you apply for this position, you will be requiredto be fully vaccinated. Current New Jersey driver's license with a drivingrecord of at least three years
Must pass an initial and ongoing Motor Vehicle recordCheck evaluations
