Purchasing Coordinator

Compensation: $37.00 to $44.00 per hour depending on experience.
Overview The Purchasing Coordinator provides support to the Purchasing Manager and field regarding procurement processes, process improvement, and best practices. They will manage material blankets, assist in larger negotiations of material, and build relationships with field supervision, vendors, and manufacturing representatives.
General Responsibilities
Maintain open communication lines with all working relationships
Follow up to ensure items for which the job is accountable are performed
Earn and maintain customer’s trust
Uphold the core values of the organization
Work well with others to accomplish the mission of the organization and of the job
Specific Responsibilities General
Assist in scheduling meetings and appointments
Schedule lunch and learns
Track data, including what we buy and metrics for cost savings
Field Liaison
Assist with implementation of purchasing processes and process improvements
Review material quotes and discuss options with project teams
Assist with procurement software training
Earn and maintain the field’s trust; become a partner with them
Write and issue emails to teams and departments on behalf of purchasing
Help projects with excess material
Vendor Relationships
Management of material blankets/tracking
Establish relationships with key suppliers / manufacturing representatives who align with the organization
Supplier visits when appropriate
Attend vendor-sponsored events to represent the company when appropriate
Assist in vendor pricing negotiations
Track key performance indicators
Other Duties As May Be Assigned Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge Of
Purchasing and purchasing techniques
Electrical contracting is a plus
Purchasing/procurement services in the construction industry
Software related to the job

Requirements This position requires a minimum of three years’ electrical construction experience. Skill in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is preferred.
