Position Overview
The Parking Operations Planning and Analysis (POPA) division of DOT’s Traffic Operations is hiring one Associate Staff Analyst to work in Finance’s Revenue Strategy and Analysis unit as a Revenue Strategist. The candidate will use the internal business intelligence database to analyze revenue data, evaluate projections, and provide insights for the division’s initiatives. The role involves working with large data sets, creating logic algorithms, troubleshooting data quality, and coordinating with stakeholders.
Eligibility Candidate must permanently serve as an Associate Staff Analyst or be reachable on the open‑competitive list, Exam #9061, or be eligible under the 55‑a program.
Responsibilities
Creates logic for data analytical exercises, builds templates and algorithms for data processing and clean‑up.
Analyzes and troubleshoots large datasets, identifies all data quality issues and recommends resolutions.
Builds internal data repository with clean and error‑free data.
Monitors and analyzes the performance of all citywide meters and zones to identify variances and trends.
Prepares comprehensive visualization reports and presentations as needed.
Completes special projects, develops spreadsheets, and handles ad‑hoc requests as needed.
Assists in tracking and coordinating data quality management efforts with internal and external stakeholders.
Work Location & Hours 34‑02 Queens Blvd., LIC, NY 11101
35 hours per week, Monday‑Friday, shift TBD.
This position may be eligible for remote work up to two days per week, pursuant to the Remote Work Pilot Program.
Minimum Qualifications
A master’s degree from an accredited college in a relevant field and one year of full‑time professional experience, OR
A baccalaureate degree and three years of professional experience, OR
An associate degree (or 60 semester credits) and five years of professional experience, OR
A four‑year high school diploma and seven years of professional experience, OR
A combination of education and experience equivalent to the above.
Preferred Skills Excellent data management, analytical, financial, statistical and computer skills; strong written and verbal communication; teamwork, organization, and attention to detail.

Public Service Loan Forgiveness Prospective employees may be eligible for federal loan forgiveness programs and state repayment assistance.
Residency Requirement New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. Certain city employees may qualify for residency in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County.
