The Corporate Accounting and Reporting team leads the accuracy, integrity and timeliness of accounting close, technical accounting, and external reporting activities. The team partners closely with Investments, Asset Management, FP&A, Legal and other functions to ensure high quality financial accounting and reporting in a dynamic and transforming environment.
About The Role The
Director, Financial Reporting
plays a critical leadership role within the corporate accounting function and reports to the Vice President, Assistant Controller. This role is responsible for leading the preparation of external reporting, ensuring accurate and complete disclosures in accordance with US GAAP and SEC requirements, maintaining and enhancing disclosure controls and processes in compliance with SOX framework and driving close to report transformation initiatives to support business success. The Director will play an active role in building and maintaining a high-performing team through focused coaching and mentorship, and strengthening cross-functional partnerships through meaningful collaboration.
Key responsibilities include:
Manage the preparation, review and filing of SEC filings, including Forms 10‑K, 10‑Q and 8‑K, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and SEC requirements
Collaborate with key stakeholders to clarify and simplify technical rules and regulations to ensure accurate and complete data are provided to support key disclosures
Partner closely with Legal, FP&A and Investor Relations teams to develop accurate, transparent and consistent disclosures across various externally released documents
Active management of reporting calendar to ensure timely preparation, review and finalization of information used to support financial reporting
Monitor and provide analysis on changing or new FASB or SEC disclosure rules that may impact future financial reporting
Maintain and update reporting policies, ensuring appropriate interpretation, communication and implementation of new standards and disclosure requirements
Share insights and actively participate in Disclosure Committee Working Group discussions to drive informed decision making by the Executive Leadership Team
Partner with Accounting teams on ad‑hoc projects to develop comprehensive impact assessments impacting accounting policies, processes and controls
Support preparation and review of financial information used in earnings release processes and related internal and external communications
Strengthen internal controls over financial reporting and support audit activities, including coordination of quarterly reviews and annual audits
Lead, mentor and develop a team of accounting professionals, building capability, accountability and long‑term bench strength
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
10+ years of proven expertise gained through public accounting firm and US public company external reporting roles with deep US GAAP, SEC and SOX knowledge
CPA required
Experience in real estate or property/lease accounting strongly preferred; REIT experience a plus
Experience with the following IT systems and tools highly desirable: Yardi, Longview, Workiva and Intelligize
Track record of driving process improvements and operational excellence
Naturally curious and thrives in ill‑defined problem‑solving activities under time constraint

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without need for employer sponsorship now or in the future
Estimated base salary range:
$180,000 – $250,000 per year. Actual base pay will be determined based on work location, skills, qualifications, relevant experience and business needs.
In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for discretionary incentive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package, which includes medical, dental, vision, retirement savings, paid time off and other wellness benefits under applicable plan terms.
