Responsibilities
Ensure material information captured in the automated underwriting system is accurate at time of review.
Demonstrate sound judgment in the analysis of required documentation while mitigating organization risk through appropriate decision making.
Meet or exceed productivity levels established by Management and credit quality standards set forth by Citizens Bank.
Respond timely to quality control and audit reviews when requested. Provide superior customer service to both internal and external customers.
Ensure Quality Assurance process is in place and adhered to prior to loan disbursement.
Assist the Group Team Manager where necessary.
Fraud detection during documentation review.
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 or more years underwriting required, student loan and/or mortgage lending experience preferred
Automated Underwriting System experience required
Self-directed with excellent time management skills
Demonstrated ability to analyze and evaluate complex income documentation, including complex tax returns, trust, investment, retirement, etc.
Must have strong judgement review abilities and autonomous decision-making skills
Ability to work in a face‑paced environment
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Advanced proficiency in Word and Excel
Education
Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent coursework and/or training in underwriting
Hours and Work Schedule
Hours per week: 40
Work Schedule: 8:00am – 5:00pm, Monday – Friday
In office: Johnston, RI 4 days, 1 day remote
Some overtime expected
Limited PTO during summer months (June, July and August)
