Overview
This position plays a vital role in ensuring a first class golf experience for all members and guests at OCC. This position oversees the daily operation of the bag room, practice facilities, caddie program and all other outside service related functions. This position leads, trains, and motivates a team of outside service attendants and caddies, maintaining the highest standards of hospitality, professionalism and attention to detail consistent with OCC's traditions of excellence.
Experience Required
Prior experience in golf operations, outside services or caddie management is strongly preferred.
High level of leadership, organization and communication skills.
Self-Motivated and reliable as it pertains to consistently showing up to work.
A commitment to customer service and providing professional experiences.
A professional appearance and commitment to working in the service industry.
Ability to work weekends and holidays during the season
March - November (possible full-time opportunities if desired)
40 - 55 Hours per week (variable throughout the season)
Essential Responsibilities Staff and Caddie Leadership
Recruit, hire, schedule and supervise all outside service staff and caddies.
Develop and lead orientation and training programs that meet and exceed our service and safety standards.
Manage the clubs caddie program in collaboration with the Head Golf Professional which includes training, assignments and performance evaluations.
Encourage a team-oriented environment that encourages growth, accountability and pride in a high level of service overall.
Assign caddie loops, work with members requests regarding caddies and ensure the level of caddie provided based on the members' request.
Member & Guest Experience
Be a welcoming and visible ambassador for the golf operation: greet and assist members and guests upon their arrival.
Anticipate member and guest needs to create a positive experience daily.
Communicate with Golf Professional Staff, Caddies and Outside service members to ensure a consistent and exceptional experience.
Communicate with members regarding their caddie experience. Provide feedback to caddies and mentor based on member feedback.
Operations
Oversee bag room operations including storage, organization and equipment care.
Assist in managing golf cart fleet maintenance, rotation, charging and cleanliness.
Maintain the practice facilities in coordination with Golf Professional Staff.
Work with Head Golf Professional to maintain a consistent level of operations and service to our members and guests.
Train staff proper set up and breakdown of daily operations.
Maintain caddie records regarding loops, caddie class and rankings.
Work with Head Golf Professional regarding outside service payroll and scheduling.
Assist with tournament preparation, scoring and logistics when needed and requested by the Golf Professional Staff.
Utilize caddie management software to communicate and assign caddies
