Daikin Applied Americas Daikin Applied is currently hiring an Associate Account Representative for the Ignite Sales Development program for our South Dakota office. The program starts in June 2026 and provides world‑class education in commercial HVAC equipment, Daikin Applied service and solutions, and proven sales methodologies. Participants receive competitive pay, a company vehicle, a cell phone, and a laptop. Upon completion, you will transition into the full‑time Account Representative position. Each Associate Account Representative is based at a local service office and will travel 6‑10 times during the program to visit commercial HVAC service offices, manufacturing sites, and Daikin Applied’s corporate headquarters. You’ll partner with experienced managers, technicians, and salespeople for hands‑on experience. Your Responsibilities
Build strong relationships with program and Daikin field leaders, mentors, peers, and support staff. Develop knowledge of Daikin Applied’s commercial HVAC equipment, service, and solutions. Partner with local office team to job‑shadow critical roles. Attend in‑person trainings, virtual instructor‑led trainings (VILT), and complete self‑directed learning modules. Learn processes, procedures, technology, and resources to support your sales office with estimating, preparing quotes, understanding credit terms, contract preparation, and more. Attend Sandler Sales methodology training. Role‑play different parts of the sales cycle to practice working with customers. Collaborate with Ignite peers to complete a capstone project during the program. Apply learnings by building your book of business to prepare for the full‑time sales role. Travel with Ignite peers and program staff to key Daikin sites six to ten times per year. Travel your local district’s territory with key office members on a regular basis, up to daily. Complete all learning modules, assignments, and capstone projects by the Ignite instructors’ due dates. Minimum Qualifications
4‑year bachelor’s degree in business, communications, engineering, or a related field. A high school diploma or GED with HVAC certification and 5 years of HVAC field service experience will be considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite. Strong organization, problem‑solving, and customer service skills. Mechanical/technical aptitude. Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record. Ability to travel regularly during the program and in the local territory while working with a sales mentor. Ability to travel local territory on a daily basis after program completion. Experience with Salesforce or other sales tracking software (preferred).
