OVERVIEW
Alera Group is looking for a highly skilled Employee Benefits Account Executive to support our expanding portfolio of rural and community hospital clients. This position is ideal for a seasoned benefits professional with strong broker experience, exceptional client-facing communication skills, and deep knowledge of self-funded plans and captive arrangements.

RESPONSIBILITIES HealthSure’s Employee Benefits Account Executive will serve as the primary partner for a defined portfolio of healthcare clients—leading strategic conversations, managing complex renewals, and guiding organizations through the intricacies of employee benefits and compliance. You will also play a key role in the ongoing success of the self-funded captive program we own and manage, overseeing annual renewal cycles, performance analysis, and client education.
Manage all aspects of employee benefits programs, including self-funded medical plans, captive participation, renewals, compliance, and service plans.
Lead the annual captive renewal process, including claims analysis, performance review, trend evaluation, and client presentations.
Serve as a trusted advisor for hospital leadership teams and HR/Finance stakeholders.
Build and strengthen relationships with clients, carriers, partners, and internal teams.
Lead client meetings with C‑Suite executives (virtual and in‑person), articulating strategic options, renewal outcomes, and action plans with clarity and confidence.
Identify challenges, opportunities, and process improvements for clients and internal operations.
Maintain clean and accurate documentation within our agency management system.
Collaborate with sales and consulting teams on retention, cross‑selling, and new business pursuits.
Monitor regulatory changes and translate compliance requirements for clients.
QUALIFICATIONS
5 years of licensed Employee Benefits account management experience within a broker or consulting environment.
Deep expertise in self-funded plans, captive arrangements, and renewal strategy.
Strong understanding of medical and ancillary products, carriers, and market dynamics.
Excellent presentation and communication skills, especially in client-facing renewal discussions.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and agency management systems.
Ability to manage multiple priorities with integrity, initiative, and attention to detail.
A passion for learning, professional growth, and delivering exceptional service.
Must hold active Life and Health license in Texas.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION This job requires presence in the office on a hybrid schedule as agreed with the manager.
