Position Summary
The Commercial Sales Team Manager oversees a team of Commercial Relationship Managers (CRMs) that expand Achieva’s market presence within our local communities, sharing our story as a best-in-class commercial lending leader, and winning full relationships.
Key Responsibilities Talent Development & Leadership
Hires and develops CRMs who prospect for new business lending opportunities and expand existing member relationships resulting in full relationships, including business loans, operating accounts, and Treasury Management booked business.
Models and coaches desired networking and joint sales calling behaviors to pursue prospective business members while developing staff, including Commercial Relationship Managers, Treasury Management Sales Team, and Branch Teams.
Develops and/or updates training material.
Business Growth & Relationship Management
Ensures a positive member experience during the lifetime of the relationship, including prospecting, connecting needs with solutions, application process, annual reviews, loan renewals, loan payoff, etc.
Establishes loan goals, incentives, contests, promotions, etc., that aid in aligning the CRMs work with organizational goals.
Strategic Partnerships & Product Development
Partners with Product Development to proactively build compelling business cases for competitive business solutions, products, services, and pricing.
Attend and/or present at Commercial Loan Committee, ALCO, Incentive Committee and other meetings when appropriate.
Compliance & Risk Management
Utilizes industry resources to ensure team is current on State and NCUA regulations, SBA SOP, and current trends in business lending.
Ensures timely new loan decisioning, processing, and funding, as well as the completion of annual relationship reviews.
Operational Excellence & Performance Management
Manages business loan pipeline and various reports to ensure goal achievement and the communication of results with leadership.
Ensures compliance with all business banking appropriate policies, products, services, and documents procedures, accordingly, ensuring consistent operations and risk mitigation.
Organizational Engagement
Represent the credit union with professionalism and courtesy in all interactions.
Uphold the highest ethical standards in all interactions and responsibilities.
Represent and uphold the Achieva Brand Frame.
Support leadership initiatives that position the credit union as a top employer.
Participate in annual training or as required by BSA and the Privacy Act.
Perform other essential functions as needed or assigned.
Travel may be required on occasion.
Work flexible hours including weekends and holidays to meet member and business demands.
Requirements – Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
3-5 years of management experience.
Thorough knowledge of the financial services industry, Commercial Lending, and Treasury Management with a solid understanding of all applicable federal, state, NCUA, and SBA regulations.
Certifications
Must have a valid Florida driver’s license and pass a background check.
Skills and Attributes
Strong leadership and management of sales teams.
Proficient at sales skills, including presentation skills, networking, negotiating, overcoming objections, and closing the deal.
Proficient in interpreting business financials and tax returns.
Proficient in MBL/Commercial/SBA Lending and Treasury Management solutions.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Exceptional verbal and written communication and presentation skills.

In The Community This role travels frequently, performing business calling at various business locations in our local communities. On occasion, this position may include remote/hybrid work and may require occasional travel to other Achieva offices or events. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and virtual meeting platforms. The employee must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods and communicate effectively via phone, video, and electronic messaging. This position may require extended periods of sitting or standing and occasional light lifting up to 25 pounds.
