+ Utilize Impact’s instructional practices including supporting all scholars with academic and social emotional strengths and needs.
+ *Leverage high quality curriculum including Illustrative Mathematics, Fishtank ELA, and 95% Core Phonics.** *Ensure a positive learning environment by leveraging effective classroom management practices*
+ Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere, implementing effective behavior management strategies, building strong student-teacher relationships, and creating a safe and joyful environment for optimal learning.***Plan and prepare for daily instruction (10%)**** Leverage comprehensive lesson plans anchored in high quality curriculum (see above), anticipate student responses and potential challenges, and plan targeted questions and exemplar work samples.* Communicate regularly with families, leveraging asset-based language to describe scholars’ academic and behavioral strengths and potential barriers.***Commit to professional learning, development, and growth (15%)**** Actively engage in instructional coaching and professional development aimed at improving your practice* Participate in the development of your assistant teacher/teaching fellow by modeling strong practices, planning together and sharing feedback with one another. \*This isn’t a supervisory position\**Other duties as assigned*\*Core job responsibility percentages are estimates based on projected work for this position.****Required Qualifications***** Must have a Bachelor’s degree in education/related field or be actively working towards completing a bachelor's degree (required within
2-years of employment)****Preferred Qualifications***** 1+ years experience delivering rigorous and engaging instruction in a K-12 setting* English Language Learner Endorsement* Special education endorsement****License/Certification***** Must have or be eligible for certification by OSPI with an endorsement in Elementary Education (within 1-month of employment required)* Must have or be eligible to obtain a CPR certification* Must have or be eligible to obtain a food handler certification****Physical Demands***** The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is active and may require standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching throughout the day. Frequent light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds) with occasional heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds). The employee must have sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate a computer keyboard and other office equipment.
