Job Summary We are looking to grow our small pool of existing creative freelance facilitators in East Yorkshire, to deliver and workshop assist some of our projects and programme in the Hull and East Yorkshire area.

Job Description The Opportunities:

Creative Workshops delivered in school holidays – part of various programmes, including working towards Wollstonecraft Festival of Rights and Creativity. Hours vary depending on artists' availability.

“Start Somewhere…in Hull” – a creative and cultural human rights training programme, bringing young people together to experience the arts/charity on their doorstep, whilst exploring that this means from a human rights perspective.

Guaranteed minimum of 10 hours work across the year for selected artists.

Lead Facilitator, minimum hourly delivery rate £25 per hour.

Workshop Assistant, minimum hourly delivery rate £18 per hour.

Planning time paid at an admin rate (minimum £15 per hour).

Other possible opportunities pending funding applications.

We are seeking freelancers who are passionate about inspiring young people and promoting human rights education. We are particularly interested in people who use creative approaches as part of their facilitation. Example: “[This project] exceeded expectations. Wollstonecraft Society's engagement style was amazing to watch, [they] handled challenging behaviour appropriately and successfully. As well as creating a judgment‑free environment (easier said then done) allowing all the young people to come out of their shells. The visible increase in confidence every week from the young people was astonishing.” – Matthew's Hub Worker about project “Young people who Lead”.

Job Requirements

A minimum of 3 years facilitating creative sessions with children and young people.

Experience working with children and young people who face or have faced barriers in their day‑to‑day lives.

Creative workshop planning and project planning skills, including developing session plans, using high‑quality session materials/resources and understanding the needs for risk assessment.

Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills, both with participants, partners and the staff team.

Experience of co‑producing with participants to enable projects to develop.

Experience of ensuring a good safeguarding culture when delivering projects.

Enhanced DBS check (dated within 2 years).

A passion for Mary Wollstonecraft's life and legacy.

Experience supporting evaluation and monitoring of projects.

First Aid qualification.

Safeguarding training.

Job Responsibilities

Position: Freelance Facilitator.

Reporting to: Programme Development Manager.

Location: This is for London‑based practitioners. It is expected that initially work will be taking place in North London.

Commitment expectation: Projects and programmes will vary depending on the needs of the project, as well as funding requirements.

Freelancers are responsible for their own taxes/ National insurance etc.

We deliver creative and meaningful projects that empower children who face barriers daily to make a positive difference to their lives and their community.

The priority of the society is to work in places where Mary Wollstonecraft is most relevant in parts of London and East Yorkshire.

We deliver work in primary and secondary schools and children in the community.
