Rock Creek Builders is a fast-paced, quality-driven custom home builder specializing in high-end new construction homes ranging from $1–$3 million. Our team is small, caring, and highly detail-oriented. We pride ourselves on clear communication, thoughtful design, and delivering an exceptional client experience.
The Selections Coordinator/Designer will guide clients through the entire selections journey, track allowance spending, produce documentation, and support our construction team with accurate, timely, and organized information. This position also includes designing company-owned spec homes, giving you the opportunity to shape the aesthetic and functionality of our in-house projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Client & Design Coordination
Serve as the primary point-of-contact for clients regarding design and selections
Provide full guidance during the selection process for custom homes
Conduct full selections walkthroughs and manage emails, questions, and approvals
Schedule and attend selection appointments with vendors and showrooms
Track allowance spending and ensure selections stay within budget
Documentation & Design Work
Prepare detailed selections sheets, specification sheets, and paint schedules
Produce interior trim mockups, detail sketches, and basic layout drawings
Create client-facing mood boards and visual presentations
Maintain accurate and organized documentation for the construction team
Update selections logs and internal tracking systems in Buildertrend
Design and manage company-owned spec homes, including interior and exterior selections
Ordering & Vendor Coordination
Put together selection quotes (lighting, plumbing, countertops, etc.)
Once approved, place orders directly with vendors
Check and track lead times, pricing, backorders, and delivery schedules
Coordinate with vendors for samples, appointments, and product questions
Software & File Management
Daily use of Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive, Calendar)
Comfortable with Mac operating system
Use of Buildertrend, Chief Architect, and Canva (training available)
Field & Office Responsibilities
Visit job sites as needed to verify design details
Drive to showrooms and design centers (company vehicle available for use)
Lift product samples (10–25 lbs) on occasion
Qualifications
2+ years of experience in residential design, selections coordination, or a similar role
Strong understanding of materials used in custom home construction
Confident leading clients through design decisions and managing budgets/allowances
Highly detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple active projects
Strong communication skills and professionalism
Ability to read and understand residential plans
Experience producing design mockups or visual boards
Proficiency in Buildertrend, Chief Architect, and Canva is preferred (can be taught)
Maintain a valid driver’s license and state required insurance.
Hours & Benefits:
8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday–Friday (in-person; no remote)
Occasional evening or Saturday appointments may be required based on client/vendor schedules
Limited flexibility at this time due to coordination needs
Salary Range: $55,000–$80,000, depending on experience
3 weeks paid vacation in Year 1, including:
1 week during the 4th of July
1 week between Christmas and New Year
5 floating days
2 paid sick days
$100/month health insurance stipend
Phone stipend
Company vehicle available for job-related travel as needed
