POSITION OVERVIEW As a CAD Technician at LJA Transportation, you will be able to develop a strong career foundation, expand your base skills into a broader set of technical tools across multiple disciplines and be assigned project roles that best fit your interests, drive, and skills. Create CAD drawings for engineering projects
Create plan and profile sheets, as well as CAD file exhibits and structural detail sheets
Complete redline markups
Perform work from sketches, verbal instructions, and notes
Maintain current knowledge of design and drafting procedures within the specialty field
Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIRED EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS
Minimum of high school or technical school training with courses in computer‑aided drafting or equivalent experience
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
1‑2 years’ experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation SS4, MicroStation CONNECT Edition, or OpenRoads Designer CE
Technical knowledge of CAD operations and engineering specialty discipline
Effective communication skills, both oral and written
Effective interpersonal skills with coworkers
Must be adaptable to changes in work assignments as project needs evolve.
IDEALLY, YOU SHOULD ALSO HAVE
5+ years’ experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation CE, or OpenBridge Modeler CE
Previous work experience in an AEC related firm
