**PRIMARY PURPOSE/GENERAL DESCRIPTION:*** Meet with students seeking to register for accommodations through intake meetings that review disability documentation which could include but is not limited to, 1) psychological-educational assessments, psychological evaluations, medical and other technical documentation, 2) history of accommodations and, 3) current impact of disability; to determine with the student the appropriate and reasonable academic, housing, and meal accommodations needed in accordance with ADA, Section 504, the ADAAA and Disability Services documentation requirements.* When necessary, communicate with health care providers to gather additional documentation related to a student’s accommodations.* Collaborate with AARS staff in the areas of academic resources i.e., tutoring and coaching, and other programs.* Participate in weekly staff meetings and represent the office or serve as department representative on designated committees.* Attend professional development trainings, webinars, workshops, to stay current with trends related to post-secondary disabilities issues.* Assist with website updates and other marketing tasks related to AARS.* Participate in special projects or programming related to disability and accommodations.* Serve as a member of the Scripps Administrator On-Call (AOC) team, participating in education and training for on-call staff in support of students in crisis.* Perform other duties as assigned.* Actively support the College’s Principles of Community and Institutional Values in the performance of job duties.* Knowledge of disability related laws including, but not limited to, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990, as amended, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and the Federal Fair Housing Act.* Excellent verbal and written communications skills.* Strong advising and interpersonal skills.* Experience working with Accessible Information Management (AIM), Messenger Pigeon, Speechify, FM systems, and other assistive technology preferred.* Ability to work effectively with students, faculty and staff.* Ability to help students develop optimal learning skills and present training and motivational programs to a wide variety of groups.* Ability to navigate and prioritize multiple responsibilities in a busy work environment.* Exercise sound judgment in dealing with sensitive and/or confidential matters.# **\*\*Please note: Current Scripps employees will need to apply for open positions through Workday.
