About being our Civil Engineer Designer - Utility Design As a Civil Engineer Designer at Psomas, you will support our Site/Land Development Engineering Team on projects primarily led by our Salt Lake City office, while collaborating closely with team members across locations.

In this position, you'll utilize your education and experience to contribute to the planning, design, and production of Public and Site/Land Development projects in a team-oriented, collaborative environment, while interacting with internal stakeholders and clients. The team is a dynamic mix of seasoned professionals and emerging talent, focused on delivering technology-driven, high-profile projects with an emphasis on sustainability

Responsibility Highlights for our Civil Engineer Designer - Utility Design

Work under minimal supervision, providing support to a project team on a broad range of projects in both public and private development including utility relocation, residential, municipal or commercial sites

Help with the development of projects and conventional aspects of civil engineering

Providing necessary design, coordination, and follow up on work to ensure quality standards are met, efficiency levels are maintained, as well as client satisfaction

Under supervision, prepare technical reports, including hydraulics, hydrology, water/sewer/drainage calculations; cost/quantity estimates; and specifications

Assist in utility investigation and coordination

Calculate earthwork/retaining wall grades

Assist with design of grading/drainage; earthwork analysis; street improvements; water, sewer, and storm drain utility systems; stormwater quality treatment measures; demolition plans; and site plan development using MicroStation OpenRoads and/or Civil3D software

Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform job functions

Support other team members as needed

Minimum Qualifications to be our Civil Engineer Designer - Utility Design

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university

Minimum of 2+ years of experience in civil engineering and design in site development engineering projects

Experience using MicroStation as part of project design and production efforts.

Working knowledge of Auto CAD and Civil 3D, and proficiency in MS Office Suite

Demonstrate an organized work approach and willingness to ask questions

Ability to adapt with changing priorities

Self-motivated to work on individual tasks and in a team environment

Must be able to communicate with verbal and written clarity

EIT Certification (or can obtain within 2 years of hire)

Preferred Qualifications for our Civil Engineer Designer - Utility Design

Working toward Utah PE license

A competitive salary! The expected range for this position is $35.00 - $48.00/hour depending on experience

Compensation may be adjusted for well qualified candidates
