Position Summary Learn all the onboarding skills to successfully transition into an operational role when the opportunity becomes available. Learn the key components of the mill and the operational process flow. Clean the main process building by shoveling, sweeping, vacuuming, and disposing of debris. Provide outside yard cleanup and support. Seeks opportunities to decrease waste and improve sustainability throughout the mill. Entry role will be limited in time until a position is available in production. Transitioning to other production positions will follow the Crystal Hill Job Bid Policy.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Rotate and learn the operational activities of the entire process
Clean main process building
Sweep, vacuum, and shovel debris and material in the operational mill
Help to sweep, blow down, and pick up on the forming line, Geo Energy, and blending area
Dump tote in waste chutes
Blow down equipment and sweep floor
Maintain Geo energy area by cleaning equipment and removing sludge. Supports down day by cleaning the WESP units and associated equipment
Learn to complete operational PMs which will include safety inspections, fire protection inspections, and environmental inspections. Complete site safety and housekeeping audits
Learn to complete facility fire inspections and maintain housekeeping of the Fire Building and Confined Space Building
Maintain grounds
Develop the skills to properly inspect and operate manlifts, forklifts, loaders, sweepers, and other mobile equipment
Notify Shift Supervisor and/or Maintenance Department of any equipment problems
Specialized/Technical Knowledge Or Required Skills HEWIND
Preferred
3 years in a manufacturing setting
Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating and maintaining equipment
Mechanical Aptitude: Understand and apply mechanical concepts
Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues
Safety Practices: Understanding and adherence to industry-specific safety guidelines
Adaptability: Flexibility to work in various conditions and handle different tasks
Communication: Clear and effective communication skills for coordinating with team members and reporting issues
Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with others to achieve common goals
Physical Requirements Works both inside and outside the main process building exposed to heat, noise, resin/wood dust, rain, and other elements. Uses brooms, air hoses, shovels, gas powered floor sweepers, other handheld tools, company dump truck, and fire extinguisher.
