Position Information Our Service Advisors have front‑line responsibility for customer interaction. Responsibilities include determining a customer’s vehicle issue, documenting and preparing repair orders, scheduling service, communicating with the customer, preparing estimates, obtaining authorization, closing repair orders, and obtaining the appropriate form of payment from the customer.
This position reports to the Service Manager, works 40 hours a week and is eligible for overtime. It also qualifies for a monthly bonus incentive based on your individual gross profit.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information
Professional dress and strong oral and written communication skills with customers, vendors, and other contacts
Two years of related experience in a dealership
General knowledge of truck mechanical operations
Sales experience preferred
The Service Advisor position works throughout the service bays in an open garage area. It is physically demanding: stand 6–8 hours per shift, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, handle, lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, and be exposed to noise, vibration, dust, exhaust fumes, and other hazardous and nonhazardous materials. Road testing of vehicles may also be required.
