JOB SUMMARY This role involves developing, promoting and supporting the facility operations and membership services for the department. It stresses strategic aspects of operations, a robust student staff, planning, scheduling, budgeting, and supervision.

APPOINTMENT INFORMATION Budgeted Salary:

$75,750 annually. Salary commensurate with skills, qualifications and experience.

JOB DUTIES 45% - Facility Operations

Manages and supports all aspects of a highly complex intercollegiate athletics and recreation program.

Executes management of passenger van fleet, including key custody, institutional compliance, and regular maintenance.

Assists and executes facility and vehicle key management and custody systems.

Manages and maintains software and hardware systems that support emergency preparedness, safety, personnel, and operations.

Contributes to and supports department financial operations through daily reconciliation, budget maintenance, and annual reporting.

Responsible for maintaining operational hours and staffing for East Field House Complex and West Field House.

Ensures accurate information related to facilities and operations is distributed to stakeholders.

Contributes to athletics game‑day operations through collaboration with staff.

Collaborates with department personnel of all levels to execute operations.

Develops and cultivates relationships across campus.

Coordinates internal and external facility reservations and events.

25% - Personnel Management

Responsible for the recruitment, hiring, onboarding, scheduling, training, retention, and development of ~100 student personnel.

Ensures a diverse, representative workforce.

Manages daily operations of student staff.

May drive staff and athletes to locations and events.

Ensures safe, inclusive, professional working conditions.

Supports and motivates employees in holistic development.

Provides guidance and training opportunities.

Maintains employee records.

15% - Member Services

Manages all aspects of comprehensive membership services program.

Develops and contributes positively to community relations.

Establishes annual financial reporting related to membership.

Serves as primary point of contact for customer service inquiries.

Proposes and executes membership sales procedures.

Develops and maintains customer‑service oriented processes for locker rental and equipment checkout.

10% - Financial Reconciliation

Executes daily reconciliation and manages online sales, cash, checks, and gifts.

Administers cash handling functions with the Business Office.

5% - Other Duties As Assigned

Participates in departmental and campus committee work.

Proposes revised operating procedures and guidelines.

Develops and administers staff training on policies, risk management, emergency plans and communications.

Partners with units for appropriate training.

Drives a vehicle to execute programs and game‑day events.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.

Advanced knowledge of program activity and best practices.

Problem‑solving skills.

Interpersonal skills for a diverse team and for supervising student staff.

Demonstrated fiscal management abilities.

Ability to multi‑task with frequent interruptions.

Skill in effective listening.

Excellent written communication skills, English.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Master's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.

Proficiency in computer applications relevant to duties (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Innosoft Fusion, IMLeagues, DoSportsEasy, Whentowork.com, Slack, FreedomPay, Formstack, Adobe Creative Cloud).

SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Required criminal history background check.

Must pass the employment misconduct disclosure process.

Must possess CPR/First Aid/AED certification or obtain it within 60 days of hire.

Must possess a valid California driver license and participate in DMV pull‑notice program.

Ability to work long periods of time at a computer.
