Tax Managing Director | Private Client Services
Annual salary target for this role is $200,000–$450,000.
Compensation will be determined based on education, experience and skill set of the selected candidate.
Beyond salary the total compensation includes comprehensive medical, dental, retirement, life and disability insurance, health‑care and dependent‑care reimbursement accounts, certification incentives, education assistance, referral program and other benefits.
Responsibilities
Lead engagement team and directly interact with clients and family‑office personnel to ensure timely service and clear communication
Develop, nurture and manage client relationships by consistently providing timely, appropriate communication and services
Serve as a trusted personal and business advisor to clients
Direct multiple engagements, including consulting, compliance and tax‑planning services
Collaborate with client‑service team to design, communicate and implement innovative planning ideas
Guide and manage IRS and state audits
Participate in new‑business development activities, prospecting, networking and representing CBIZ at industry events
Design and deliver technical training on individual‑related tax topics
Recruit, supervise, train, develop and motivate less experienced team members
Promote a team environment, support management decisions and build a positive culture
Contribute to internal tax‑department management through committee membership and group‑leadership responsibilities
Perform other responsibilities as needed
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Taxation or Accounting strongly preferred
Comprehensive tax‑planning and consulting experience with deep expertise in federal and state tax laws
Success providing consultative service to high‑net‑worth individuals and families
Technical mastery of individual taxation, trusts, estates and gift taxation
Ability to present information clearly and respond to client and team questions
Track record of successful new‑business development
Excellent analytical, supervisory, organizational and communication skills
Experience mentoring junior team members
Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook and Excel
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
10 years of experience in public accounting or related field
10 years of supervisory experience
Active CPA or equivalent certification
Ability to manage deadlines and multiple assignments
Proficient use of applicable technology
Demonstrated communication skills at all organizational levels
High level of business integrity, client service and leadership skills
Willingness to travel based on client and business needs
