Responsibilities

assist in the creation and execution of an overall plan for community outreach and engagement, including raising awareness about the organization and the development of engagement and partnership pathways for individuals and organizations that align with our mission and vision

Regularly analyze the community to identify opportunities to grow the Community Outreach Program

Represent Hays County in community initiatives and at events that support our goals and strategies

Assist in the creation and distribution of program marketing materials, including flyers, fact sheets, program information, reports, and a programmatic newsletter, to target the intended audience

Participate in outreach in the community, including, but not limited to, going door to door in neighborhoods, businesses, churches, etc.

Ensure that vulnerable community members have improved access to healthcare services and increased access to health screening opportunities

Work with the Community Health Services Manager to ensure an increase in understanding among county citizens regarding available health and social service programs

Support and encourage community health activities that enhance the visibility of the Hays County Health Department

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Public Health, Public Relations, or other related fields is preferred

A minimum of two (2) years of experience in communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

Any equivalent combination of experience and training may be substituted on a year for year basis

Class C driver’s license

Must complete any additional training within 30 days of notice

Bilingual (English to Spanish) preferred

Preferred
