What to Expect The Manager of Sales for Tesla's direct to customer residential energy program will lead national growth across solar, Powerwall, and integrated home energy solutions. You will oversee the full customer sales journey from initial engagement through contract conversion and handoff to installation. This role includes leadership of both the pre order sales team and the post order design consultant team that ensures customers receive a system tailored to their energy needs. You will partner with product, marketing, operations, and process teams to shape and execute strategies that simplify the buying experience. Expect to bring a disciplined, data driven approach to forecasting, performance management, and customer insights. Success in this role means accelerating adoption of clean energy and building a high performing team grounded in Tesla's mission.

What You'll Do

Drive sales and growth for residential energy

Responsible for lead to order conversion and contract conversion

Run the teams responsible for pre order customer sales and post order design consultation

Ensuredesign consultants help customers choose system designs that meet their energy needs

Work with product, process, and marketing teams to create sales strategies

Manage a team of 20 to 30 sales staff

Partner with operations to align sales commitments with installation capacity

What You'll Bring

8+ years in the residential energy industry in a sales or growth role

Deep understanding of the solar industry including utility rate trends, local incentives, and energy behavior across key regions in North America

Technical understanding of Tesla products and the value proposition to customers

Proven experience leading sales teams in energy or home services

Strong ability to use data to guide decision making

Experience driving high conversion rates across complex sales funnels

Skilled in coaching teams and building accountability
