Summary The Customer Engagement Manager (CEM) is responsible for managing assigned accounts in the Business Unit (BU). The CEM educates and develops customer interest in additional Ryder services (Full‑Service Lease, Programmed Maintenance, Lease Financing, Fleet Management Services) by utilizing the Ryder Sales Process. The book of business typically includes smaller, less complex local accounts (1–4 units), smaller demanding national accounts, and smaller coordinated accounts where the economic buyer is not at the location(s).
Territory Tennessee and Alabama
Schedule Monday – Friday, First Shift
Compensation Base Salary: $54,000 + Lucrative Commission Structure
Average Commission Year One: $15,000
Position requires ground travel and includes salary, mileage reimbursement, company cell phone, and excellent monthly commission potential. Some training travel may apply. We also offer a full benefits package, 401(k) employer match, and a discount on shares!
Essential Functions
Attain or exceed assigned sales quotas and profit targets. Maintain regular in‑person and virtual contact with customers to meet requirements, develop a sales penetration plan, segment the account base for growth, renewal and risk, present Ryder services, develop relationships with all buying influencers, understand customers’ business, goals, and objectives, collaborate with DTS/SCS to develop upsell opportunities, and serve as a facilitator between customers and Ryder units or vendors.
Ensure contracted services are delivered. Orchestrate strong customer relationships, maintain contact, manage satisfaction, conduct reviews, monitor VOC results, develop a competitive knowledge base, identify wallet opportunities, and transition accounts upstream. Update CRM.
Proactively anticipate issues through continuous dialogue with customers and Ryder staff. Provide operational performance information.
Customer Education – provide info on new services, policy changes, and best practices for efficient use of leased trucks.
Train and improve sales skills, industry knowledge, and personal growth needs.
