FT Deli Bakery Sales Manager (H)
Food Lion – Retail Operations – Location: USA-VA-Woodstock, 1029 South Main St, Store Code 00331 Deli (7208673)
Primary Purpose: Support store operations to meet financial and sales goals, build associate and customer relations, and promote a strong culture aligned with Food Lion strategy.
Duties and Responsibilities
Manage the Deli Bakery HMS Department in the absence of the Deli Manager, supervising all associates.
Daily labor management and coaching to achieve productivity expectations.
Lead and motivate the store to promote brand culture.
Support achievement of budgeted financial and operating results.
Create a welcoming customer service experience, ensuring friendly and efficient service.
Control store expenses through proper ordering and supply care.
Utilize company tools (financial reports, ACIS, scheduling, ordering) for effective operations.
Maintain department appearance, quality, variety, safety, food safety, and sanitation.
Ensure proper scheduling, receipt, preparation, conditioning, and display of merchandise.
Correct unsafe conditions and maintain compliance with regulations.
Record and report all accidents, monitor inventory shrink, and uphold security standards.
Maintain personal appearance, complete computer‑based training, and meet physical requirements.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
Leadership and team management ability.
Understanding of store operations and merchandising techniques.
Effective communication, customer service, and selling skills.
Willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical job requirements.
Problem‑solving using technical information.
Minimum age requirements met.
Certification as a Certified Food Safety Manager or compliance within 90 days; maintenance required.
Physical Requirements
Computer use and communication systems proficiency.
Ability to push/pull up to 2000 lbs using a pallet jack.
Lift up to 15 lbs continuously, 25 lbs frequently, 50 lbs occasionally; push/pull up to 75 lbs occasionally.
Stand 100% of the time with frequent walking.
Handle cleaning, packaging substances, and household cleaners.
Perform repetitive hand and arm motions; reach and grasp at waist level.
Meet activity volume standards; tolerate extreme temperatures.
Sufficient vision for documents.
