Salary Range : $62400.00 - $63900.00 Base+Commission/year
Description The Catering Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue through the strategic selling and execution of exceptional catering experiences. This role combines creative vision, business acumen, and relationship management to maximize food and beverage revenue while delivering memorable events that exceed client expectations. Key Responsibilities
Proactively identify and pursue new catering opportunities through strategic prospecting and networking
Develop and maintain relationships with local businesses, wedding planners, event coordinators, and other potential clients
Meet or exceed established monthly and annual catering sales goals
Implement effective upselling strategies to maximize revenue per event
Analyze market trends and competitive landscape to identify opportunities for growth
Collaborate with marketing to develop targeted campaigns for catering services
Represent the hotel at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions
Client Management & Event Planning
Conduct detailed consultations with clients to understand their vision, requirements, and budget
Create customized proposals that showcase our venue's capabilities while addressing client needs
Guide clients through menu selection, room layouts, décor options, and technical requirements
Negotiate contracts that balance client satisfaction with profitability goals
Maintain regular communication with clients throughout the planning process
Coordinate seamless handoff to event execution teams
Attend pre-event meetings to ensure alignment on client expectations
Conduct post-event follow-up to ensure satisfaction and cultivate repeat business
Operational Excellence
Create comprehensive Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) that clearly communicate all event details
Collaborate with culinary, banquet, and audiovisual teams to ensure flawless event execution
Conduct site inspections and menu tastings that showcase our facilities and culinary expertise
Stay current on food and beverage trends to provide innovative menu suggestions
Ensure accurate billing and timely collection of deposits and final payments
Resolve client concerns promptly and professionally
Maintain detailed records in the sales and catering system
Strategic Leadership
Participate in developing catering menus, packages, and pricing strategies
Contribute to the annual business plan and budget for the catering department
Analyze event profitability and recommend adjustments to improve margins
Mentor and support catering coordinators and other team members
Collaborate with other sales managers to maximize overall hotel revenue
Participate in daily operations meetings to ensure alignment across departments
Identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation
Qualifications Experience & Education
Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or related field preferred
3+ years of catering sales experience in a hotel, resort, or conference center environment
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding catering sales goals
Experience with menu planning, food and beverage costing, and event logistics
Knowledge of current food trends, dietary restrictions, and culinary terminology
Technical Skills
Proficiency with catering and sales software (Delphi, Cvent, Opera Sales & Catering, or similar)
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for financial analysis
Experience with CRM systems and digital marketing tools
Ability to read and interpret floor plans and room diagrams
Understanding of audiovisual requirements for various event types

This position requires regular on-site presence with occasional travel for client meetings or industry events
Physical Requirements
Ability to be on feet for extended periods during event setup and execution
Capable of moving throughout the property to conduct site inspections
Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds of sales materials or event items
Visual acuity to review detailed contracts and event documentation
Stamina to maintain high energy levels during long event days
