The Relief Route Sales Representative is responsible for selling and merchandising a line of quality products at local stores. As a Route Sales Representative, you will drive a Smithfield Foods box truck and work Monday through Friday, 50 to 55 hours a week, with the possibility of working an occasional Saturday or holiday as needed.

Core Responsibilities

Quote prices and credit terms and prepare sales invoices for orders obtained.

Deliver products to customers, stock retail cases and rotate inventory as required.

Prepare end‑of‑day reports of business transactions and inform local management of any unresolved issues or opportunities.

Maintain daily Department of Transportation logs and provide them to local management as required.

Maintain daily truck inventory and conduct weekly physical inventory; report any variations to local management.

Drive to assigned locations.

Use equipment (e.g., carts, pallets, etc.) to unload products and move throughout the store.

Rotate products and remove defective and out‑of‑date products and process returns and credits with receiver.

Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. High School Diploma/GED, required.

Minimum of 6 months experience in route sales, grocery, warehousing, or delivery, required.

A valid Driver’s License required, and a valid CDL‑B Driver’s License will be required within 90 days of start date.

Federal Regulations require individuals in this position to be 21 years of age.

Minimum of 6 months experience in route sales, grocery, warehousing, or delivery, preferred.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal or schedule form.

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Ability to work well with others in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.

Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
