Brief Description The Inside Account Manager connects customers, sales, and operations to deliver a seamless buying experience. This role serves as the first point of contact for inbound leads and existing customers, manages quotes and orders, and ensures communication flows smoothly from inquiry through delivery. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, responsive, and comfortable collaborating across departments to support profitable growth and outstanding customer service.
Lead & Inquiry Management
Serve as the first point of contact for inbound calls, emails, and web inquiries.
Qualify and distribute new leads per the defined sales process.
Provide timely responses to requests for brochures, pricing, and product information.
Track and follow up on new leads to ensure visibility and conversion.
Direct customers to digital resources and elevate opportunities to outside sales when appropriate.
Quoting, Orders & Customer Support
Prepare and enter quotes, small orders, and change orders in NetSuite.
Process payments and coordinate balance‑due reminders with accounting.
Maintain organized records for quotes, orders, and correspondence.
Fulfill customer requests for invoices, serial numbers, titles, and freight tracking.
Partner with manufacturing and logistics to communicate production timelines and resolve delays.
Sales Coordination & Communication
Act as a liaison between Sales, Operations, and Technical teams to align on customer needs.
Cover for Outside Sales during trade shows or customer visits as needed.
Coordinate with Marketing on literature, samples, and promotional materials.
Maintain inventory of printed materials and ensure up‑to‑date collateral in shared drives.
CRM, ERP & Reporting
Maintain accurate CRM and ERP data for leads, customers, and orders.
Track key performance metrics such as response times, open quotes, and lead conversion.
Support weekly and monthly sales reporting to management.
Identify data gaps and process improvements that enhance sales efficiency and customer visibility.
Administration & Trade Show Support
Manage the sales inbox and act as the first responder in the phone chain.
Prepare and mail hard‑copy literature or promotional kits.
Support trade show planning with Marketing, including booth materials and logistics coordination.
Education A high school diploma or GED is required; an undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university with a focus in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Marketing, or related discipline. In the absence of a degree, directly‑related job experience serving in strategic account management and industrial sales may offset the degree requirement.
Experience & Skills
At least three years of prior professional‑level account management and industrial sales with proven experience meeting and exceeding sales goals is preferred.
A proven track record of building and maintaining effective customer relationships within different organizations to meet or exceed established goals for product sales.
Demonstrated strong organizational abilities and prior experience utilizing a Customer Relationship Management system for business information tracking.
Demonstrated ability to work with internal and external customers providing exceptional customer service.
Requires solid written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
Strong analytical, conceptual, and planning skills are required.
Excellent math skills and overall PC literacy (Microsoft Office) are required.
Must be detail oriented, self‑motivated, and disciplined with the ability to multi‑task.
Works with a continuous improvement mindset.
Must successfully complete drug screen, physical and E‑Verify.
