Digital Sales Analyst
Position based in the NYC office on a hybrid schedule: 3 days in office, 2 days working from home. Reports to: Senior Manager, Metadata Strategy and Associate Director, Sales Analytics. Role Summary
In this role, you’ll drive backlist revenue growth across all formats by turning data into actionable insights that enhance metadata strategy, boost online discoverability, and optimize digital sales. We’re looking for a strategic thinker and data storyteller, someone who can transform complex data sets into clear, impactful recommendations that shape sales strategies and deliver measurable results. Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain reporting to track backlist sales performance across Amazon and other digital retailers. Synthesize and analyze pricing, sales, and advertising data to identify revenue growth opportunities and optimize future campaigns. Provide recommendations for dynamic pricing strategies that maximize profitability and market competitiveness across digital formats in domestic and international markets. Evaluate the effectiveness of print and digital promotions using robust performance metrics, ensuring measurable sales lift and ROI. Curate and manage retailer-specific price promotions, leveraging data to select high-opportunity backlist titles for platforms such as BookBub and other promotional partners. Monitor and analyze backlist program performance metrics to identify optimal enrollment cadences, seasonal trends, and evaluate broader impact across channels and formats, supporting data‑driven decision‑making. Collaborate with advertising and marketing teams to align promotional campaigns with pricing strategies and merchandising priorities for maximum impact. Develop and implement scalable processes for metadata uploads, deal participation, and pricing workflows to improve operational efficiency. Partner cross‑functionally with digital operations and sales teams to ensure seamless execution of promotions and accurate alignment of inventory and pricing strategies. Qualifications
1‑3 years’ experience working with data and/or business analytics experience, preferably in publishing or digital sales. Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel (e.g., x‑lookups, complex formulas, pivot tables, macros). Strong PowerPoint and general presentation creation skills. Ability to translate data into visual displays that identify clear takeaways. Experience building numerical and visual dashboard reports using data visualization software like Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, etc. Strong written/verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate across all levels within a company. Adaptable with the ability to learn new information systems and integrate them into existing processes. Superb attention to detail. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects. The compensation for this position is $60,000–$70,000. Salary can vary based on a number of factors including skills, experience, and location — talk with your recruiter to learn more.
