Animal Adoptions Coordinator
The Arizona Humane Society is seeking a compassionate, organized, and people-focused Adoptions Coordinator to join our team at our South Mountain Campus. This full-time role consists of five 8-hour shifts, Thursday - Monday, from 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM. A Day in the Life: Every day as an Adoption Coordinator is a chance to change lives- both animal and human. You'll lead from the front, guiding and inspiring the Adoptions Team to deliver exceptional customer experiences, smooth processes, and thoughtful pet placement. You'll work alongside Adoptions leadership to provide coaching, support professional growth, will hold team members accountable to our high standards of care and service, assist with overseeing daily operations, collaborating across departments, working alongside our Specialists facilitating adoptions, and jumping in wherever needed to keep the day running seamlessly. In this fast-paced, ever-changing environment, you'll make confident, in-the-moment decisions, solve problems creatively, and keep morale high- even on the busiest of days. Job Requirements
High school diploma or GED
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
2 years of leadership experience supervising employees is required.
2 years of experience in a customer service role with an understanding of sales, retail, and cash-handling operations required.
Valid Arizona Driver's License and clean driving record to be an approved driver.
Must have the flexibility to commute and report to multiple locations.
Ability to work beyond an 8 hour work day, on occasion.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Must thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, and be able to resolve conflict.
Experience in an animal welfare environment and fear free animal handling skills preferred.
Physical Demands/Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and walk up to eight hours per day. Will need to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must be able to leash restrain and walk animals up to 100lbs and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. There will be exposure to dust, heat, cold and temperature changes; wet floors, and animal noises, odors, and dander. Most time will be spent in a typical air-conditioned and heated office environment.
