The City of Topeka is seeking a dedicated individual to serve in the Municipal Court as a Court Clerk. This is specialized clerical and customer service work that requires the operation of standard office equipment, a basic level understanding regarding the criminal justice process and the precise and accurate operation of a specific and technical case administration software suite.
What you’ll do:
Perform timely and accurate data entry
Handle court case documents and correspondence
Scanning and linking
Serve as a primary hearing disposition clerk
The ideal candidate has:
The ability to prioritize and multi-task
Proficiency in typing and the operation of standard office equipment.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED equivalent required; College degree or some college level education preferred.
Three years of clerical or customer service experience required, preferably in a legal or judicial environment.
Cash handling and cash reconciliation experience preferred; bi- or multilingual capability is also preferred.
Access to the Kansas Criminal Justice Information System (KCJIS) is required; successful candidate must be able to pass an extensive background check
Minimum Entry Rate of Pay: $19.26 per hour, depending on qualifications
