We need a skilled, detail‑oriented fiber splicer to install and maintain fiber optic networks. Responsibilities include precise splicing, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation while ensuring low insertion loss and signal integrity. Essential Functions
Prepare fiber optic cables for splicing by stripping, cleaning, cleaving, and organizing fibers. Conduct comprehensive optical testing using OTDRs and other equipment to verify splice quality and network performance. Maintain accurate splice logs, test reports, and network schematics. Collaborate with engineers to diagnose and resolve fiber connectivity issues. Respond promptly to emergencies, repairing and restoring damaged fiber infrastructure. Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a safe work environment. Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot splicing equipment. Stay updated on industry trends and participate in training. Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications preferred. Proven fiber optic splicing and network installation experience. Proficiency with fusion splicing machines, cleavers, OTDRs, and related tools. Strong knowledge of industry standards and best practices. Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity. Ability to generate technical documentation such as splice logs and test reports. Problem‑solving skills to diagnose and troubleshoot network issues. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Physical & Environmental Requirements
Work in various weather conditions and confined spaces; lift, climb, and be on call for emergencies. Pay & Benefits
