Join the Toast team as a Territory Account Executive specialized in the retail vertical, focusing on convenience stores, grocery stores, and bottle shops within the Decatur, IL region. Toast is expanding with its Toast Retail platform and seeks a founder‑mindset sales leader to build the brand in this new market.
Overview As a Retail Account Executive, you will lead the entire sales cycle—from prospecting to closing—in the assigned geographic territory. You will use a consultative approach to understand unique customer needs, tailor solutions, and ensure post‑sale delivery aligns with expectations.
Responsibilities
Prospect, build relationships, and sign up new convenience stores, grocery stores, and bottle shops.
Generate and manage prospect lists, overseeing the full sales cycle from initial contact to close.
Conduct product demos and develop solutions that meet prospect needs.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure expectations set during the sales process are met at delivery.
Leverage Salesforce to manage all sales activities.
Understand the competitive landscape and position Toast accordingly.
Qualifications
Entrepreneurial, feedback‑driven mindset.
Strong communication, organizational, and presentation skills with the ability to sell and negotiate at all decision‑making levels.
Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales goals.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial team environment.
Self‑motivated, creative, flexible, and willing to navigate ambiguity.
Additional Requirements
Must live in or be in close proximity to the market area.
Willingness to travel 25% or more of the time.

$129,000 to $206,000 USD
and includes base salary, commission, benefits, and equity (if eligible). This role qualifies for uncapped commissions.
