Key Account Manager, Private Label - FastenMaster Division

Position Overview
OMG currently operates in two Divisions: OMG Roofing Products and FastenMaster®. The FastenMaster Division manufactures and markets innovative, premium quality wood-to-wood fasteners that are engineered to enable professional contractors to complete building projects safer, faster, and easier. The Key Account Manager (KAM) is responsible for driving sales of FM products at Menards, Co-ops (Ace Hardware, True Value, Do it Best) and private label customers by developing and maintaining the right product mix, communicating effectively with buying teams, and working closely with FM Product, Marketing and Operations teams.
Position Responsibilities
Drive sales growth strategies at Co-ops, Menards and private label customers to achieve profitability and market share goals.
Develop in-aisle online and cross merchandising strategies that increase product awareness and improve overall shelf presentation.
Monitor weekly sales performance and communicate trends and issues to appropriate FM Sales, Marketing and Operation resources.
Develop and nurture strong customer contacts and positive, proactive relationships with key personnel at corporate and field management levels.
Maintain and demonstrate a solid understanding of the technical aspects of target applications and the FM product line.
Understand competitor products and markets served and use knowledge to promote favorable comparisons with FM products.
Communicate effectively with the Operations team regarding product demand forecast and the fulfillment process, guaranteeing stock‑on‑hand needs are met and replenishment is timely.
Serve as resource for R&D, NPDI and Supply teams on product development and distribution issues.
Exercise strong and consistent decision‑making relative to account issues.
Perform other tasks as assigned.
Position Requirements
Bachelor of Arts or Sciences Degree or equivalent.
5+ years sales and/or account management experience (Co‑op & Menards experience preferred).
Working knowledge of “big‑box” retail philosophies and sales practices.
Success in analyzing key account performance data to strengthen sales strategies and implementation.
Excellent problem‑solving, negotiation and project management skills.
Ability to adapt to ever‑changing market conditions and follow differing customer procedures.
Strong presentation and delivery skills.
Strong PC skills including MS Office Suite.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel extensively.
Physical ability to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and lift up to 35 lbs; good vision.
Physical Requirements
Operate a motor vehicle while maintaining focus on safe driving and avoiding distractions.
Walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, handle objects, and occasionally lift or carry up to 25 lbs.
Location: Hartford, CT. Salary: $85,000–$90,000 per year. Application deadline: 3 weeks ago.
