Base pay range $21.00/hr - $23.00/hr

ZENEX International is an established but growing manufacturer of high quality industrial and institutional chemical products. We are working with our partner, Eveready Products, to support recruitment efforts as we continue to build on our success and improve our operations.

Purchasing Assistant – 1st Shift Hours: Mon – Thurs days 8:00AM – 4:30PM Friday: 6:00AM – 2:30PM

Eveready Products is seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Purchasing Assistant to join their team. The Purchasing Assistant supports the procurement operations by coordinating the timely and cost-effective acquisition of raw materials, packaging, equipment, and services. The Purchasing Assistant works closely with suppliers, production planners, inventory teams, and the purchasing team to maintain adequate stock levels, resolve order discrepancies, track deliveries, and contribute to continuous improvement of the supply‑chain process.

Responsibilities

Purchases raw and finished materials, equipment, supplies, and services in compliance with purchasing policies and procedures.

Designs and implements cost effective strategies related to purchasing in an organization.

Reviews and analyzes purchase requisitions, evaluates methods for and recommends improvements in processing of purchase requisitions, and monitors change orders.

Investigates and develops sources of supplies; issues bid requests, prepares bid specifications, formal bid invitations, or requests for proposals; receives and analyzes bids, quotes, and proposals; selects and awards vendors to procure requisitioned commodities; and administers contracts.

Develops and maintains professional relationships with vendors, facilitates supplier audits, and performs vendor risk assessments.

Monitors control costs of purchase materials, performs tests on markets, collaborates with engineering and sales team, and designs resolutions for supplier issues and to prepare and analyze technical specifications and bids.

Requirements

1-3 years of experience in supply chain management, tracking/managing budget expenses, sourcing, and vendor relationships in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the chemical industry.

Ability to effectively deploy all sourcing‑related policies, procedures and methodologies.

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft products and other analytical systems/tools.

Experience with ERP systems.

Strong business acumen, problem‑solving abilities, and business partnering skills.

Ability to work effectively in a team and process‑focused environment, driving for continuous efficiency and improvement.

Outstanding communication and relationship building skills.
