Position Summary: The Athletics External Relations Manager leads the communications, marketing, broadcasting, and creative content efforts within the Office of Communications and Brand Marketing. Focus on branding, revenue, fan engagement, and community perception through social media, advertising, and partnerships. Reports to the Assistant Director in the Office of Communications and Brand Marketing.

Job Duties
Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive brand engagement strategy that enhances the organization’s brand image, strengthens relationships with key stakeholders, and drives customer loyalty.
Oversee the budget for brand engagement activities, ensuring effective use of resources to achieve desired outcomes.
Provide direction and support for streaming services and broadcasting operations.
Oversee the creation of compelling brand content, including videos, blog posts, social media content, and branded materials, ensuring it resonates with target audiences and drives engagement.
Work with revenue‑generating units to promote ticket sales, support donor programs, and ensure corporate sponsorship fulfillment.
Monitor and analyze the performance of brand engagement efforts using key performance indicators (KPIs), adjusting strategies as needed to achieve goals and improve results.
Represent UIW Athletics at exhibits and local events, involving some local travel and occasional travel with the team; coordinate opportunities for coaches and student‑athletes to engage with the campus and community.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel, Word, Outlook, Adobe Creative Suite, StatCrew and NCAA LiveStats.
Excellent writing, verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
A deep understanding of organizational branding and its importance.
Strong creative vision and execution skills.
Strong multitasking and project management skills.
Detail‑oriented and organized.
Strong commitment to enhancing external relations team effectiveness through dependability.
Tact, discretion and the ability to maintain confidentiality, when required.
Ability to establish structure during periods of change and growth.
Ability to make decisions in a fast‑paced and deadline‑driven environment.
Ability to travel locally for events, as well as travel with the team for athletic and special events.
Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.
Required Education Bachelor’s Degree.
Required Work Experience
Three (3) years of experience in marketing, communication, broadcasting, or a related professional field. Additional education may be considered on a year‑for‑year basis for up to two years of experience.
One (1) year of leadership experience in this field.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree.
Experience in collegiate or professional sports.
Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations Must have a valid driver’s license, an insurable driving record, and be at least 21 years of age.
Work Hours
Standard hours: Monday to Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m., with flexibility based on the game schedule and special events.
Extended hours as required, including nights, weekends, and holidays, based on schedule and travel requirements.
Physical Demands
Ability to lift equipment, tools, and/or materials weighing up to 25 pounds waist high.
Ability to actively engage in events for extended periods.
Ability to regularly move around campus and event venues to engage faculty, staff, and students, and attend meetings on and off campus.
