Role Overview The Associate Director, Specialty Pharmacy & Trade Relations will manage and measure the execution of the LEO Pharma, US Distribution Strategy and achieve corresponding support/service objectives for assigned wholesale, retail, and specialty pharmacy customers. The Associate Director will also be responsible for developing and leveraging innovative industry‑leading customer service capabilities.
The primary role is to ensure that internal and external requests are addressed in a timely fashion, monitor the in‑channel supply chain and identify potential risks and suggest corrective actions. The individual will collaborate in both strategy and tactical execution of the Specialty Pharmacy network strategy as it relates to Trade, Market Access, Marketing, Sales, Field Reimbursement, HUB and patient support/assistance. This is a remote role, reporting to the Senior Director, Specialty Pharmacy & Trade Relations.
Responsibilities
Develop, manage, and implement innovative specialty pharmacy partnerships, including contracts, to support SP network strategy for both existing and new products
Develop and maintain an integrated business plan, exploring specialty pharmacy opportunities and monitoring contract progress and performance
Measure program performance monthly and quarterly, communicating results to leadership and cross‑functional teams
Negotiate and manage contractual agreements with wholesalers / specialty distributors
Actively participate in cross‑functional efforts to address broad‑based customer service needs and ensure implementation of solutions
Develop and execute account‑based product distribution / new product launch and inventory management plans aligned to current and future brand strategy, including gross/net financial goals
Ensure data integrity and adequate data flows between the company and distribution vendors and trade partners; develop and disseminate distribution‑related analytics and reporting for accuracy and timeliness
Support copay assistance programs as assigned
Manage vendor relationships and performance to ensure seamless claims processing and reimbursement
Monitor patient and pharmacy utilization trends to optimize program effectiveness
Identify opportunities to enhance patient affordability and improve adherence
Additional duties as assigned by LEO Pharma Management
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (required)
Pharm D is a plus
7+ years’ pharma industry experience, with 3+ years of specialty pharmacy experience (preferred)
2+ years with managed markets and/or trade, including contracting and negotiations
Strong understanding of Trade processes and pharmaceutical regulatory requirements; experience working with a sales force
Experience with Buy and Bill models is a plus
Ability to build relationships and expand LEO’s presence with wholesalers/distributors and retail/specialty customers
Ability to build business cases for proposed initiatives and present to upper management
Ability to travel overnight 25%
Experience with managed markets, specialty pharmacy and trade/supply‑chain account relationships a strong plus
Experience in dermatology or dermatology specialty pharmacy is a plus
Demonstrated contract negotiation skills
Strong analytical, strategic and influencing skills
Salary The base salary range for this position is
$162,000 - $225,000
per year. Salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Some positions may include eligibility to earn commissions or bonus based on company and/or individual performance.
