Please only sign up for 1 shift. Our Volunteer Team will then contact you to help get you officially scheduled. Please do not come to the shelter until you have been contacted & scheduled.
In this role, you’ll be the first friendly face visitors seeas they enter our adoption center, helping to create a welcoming and engagingexperience for everyone. Our Adoption Greeters are responsible for greeting each guest, answering basicquestions, and sharing the many ways our organization supports the community.
A Friendly, PositiveAttitude :Adoption Greeters should enjoy talking to people and making them feelwelcome.
Basic Knowledge of SPCAof Texas Services :Learn about the services we provide so you can inform community members onhow we support pet adoption, foster care, and animal welfare.
Comfort with ShelterOperations :Familiarize yourself with our layout, basic adoption procedures, and otherresources.
Passion for HelpingAnimals :Enthusiasm for helping animals find loving homes and for promoting ourmission.
Shift Availability :
Shifts are availableSunday-Monday from
12PM-2PM, 2PM-4PM or 4 PM-6PM . To begin volunteering, you'll need to create a volunteer account and complete a few initial steps. There is a $15 volunteer fee per person to cover the initial costs of onboarding new volunteers. Once these steps are completed, you'll be eligible to sign up for an Orientation session, where you'll receive further training and information. The process to become a volunteer is as follows: Express your interest through Voly. You will then be contacted with a link to complete a SPCA of Texas volunteer application. Upon completing the application, you will need to fulfill a few initial steps. After your initial steps are completed, you should have access through your volunteer account to see and sign up for Orientations. Please refrain from going to the shelter until your scheduled Orientation date.
