Sales Account Manager
who brings fresh ideas, an aggressive sales mindset, and a strong ability to grow profitable business.
This role is ideal for a self‑starter who thrives on developing new business, bringing innovative approaches to an established team, and closing revenue at scale.
Sales Account Manager Responsibilities
Grow a profit‑driven book of business across restaurant, foodservice, and retail channels—no assigned territories.
Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities in the Kansas City area such as the BBQ category.
Conduct regular outside sales visits to build customer relationships and expand market share.
Manage inside sales activity including outbound calls, prospecting, and follow‑up.
Provide fresh insights, new ideas, and strategic selling approaches to strengthen team performance.
Partner with internal AR and accounting teams on payment status, maintaining strong rapport with customers throughout the collections process.
Sales Account Manager Requirements
2–3+ years of sales experience in food distribution, protein sales, or related categories.
Proven track record managing or growing $3.5–$4M+ in annual revenue.
A proactive, entrepreneurial, highly motivated sales hunter.
Strong communication and relationship‑building skills with restaurant, retail, or foodservice operators.
Ability to balance field work and in‑office sales activity.
Knowledge of proteins (beef, pork, poultry, seafood) is highly preferred.
Experience selling high‑margin or specialty products is a plus.
Targeted compensation for the position includes a large benefits package inclusive of 401k, medical, dental, vision, PTO, and more. Within the first 6 months:
Base salary
(range depends on experience). After 6 months: transition to
draw + uncapped commission
based on gross profit. Earnings directly tied to margin performance, customer growth, and collections. Budget: $60k–$80k.
