Director, Strategic Account Management – Carolina's Region
The Director of Strategic Account Management is responsible for leading oncology account strategy across the Carolina region (North Carolina, South Carolina, Kentucky, South Indiana), aligning with national goals and building strong relationships with key GPO stakeholders. The role focuses on account planning, cross‑functional collaboration, and driving business growth for Takeda Oncology.
Base Pay Range $195,800 – $269,170 per year
How you will contribute
Develop and execute account level business plans for targeted GPO member accounts.
Identify contacts and understand key GPO stakeholders representing a broad range of functions and management levels.
Lead activities of cross‑functional partners within targeted accounts and provide guidance on franchise opportunities.
Gather and demonstrate a thorough understanding of customer accounts, business models, financial dynamics, marketplace developments, trends, competitive strategies, healthcare policy, and Takeda strategies and processes.
Assess key assigned regional and national oncology GPO clients; identify new customers with potential to impact Takeda business.
Through strategic engagement, position Takeda Oncology as a preferred partner for current and future portfolio initiatives.
Accountabilities
Work with internal matrix partners to deliver on company initiatives and priorities.
Identify key business leaders and build long‑term relationships with population‑based decision makers.
Develop strategy and plan for product/portfolio growth of key strategic accounts.
Identify processes to streamline engagements, uncover opportunities, and maximize resources.
Build credibility through deep understanding of an account’s business and external environment.
Identify opportunities for strategic partnerships.
Drive collaboration with matrix partners throughout engagement lifecycle.
Maintain full fluency of Takeda Oncology portfolio.
Mentor individuals seeking to develop into Access Account Management.
Basic Requirements / Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Marketing, or related field with 10+ years industry experience.
2+ years experience responsible for Oncology Network Accounts/IDNs or specialty GPO accounts with in‑office and medically integrated dispensing.
2+ years prior experience as an Oncology Field Sales leader with proven ability to work within a matrix team environment to achieve results.
3+ years of focused account management knowledge in the oncology marketplace, access influencers, and community oncology driving value, access, and profitability.
Strong customer orientation, account management expertise, and networking skills; B2B access experience desired.
Ability to work collaboratively, lead cross‑functional teams, identify leading trends, and translate to impactful access programs.
Travel Expectations Percentage of travel: 70%
