The Area Sales Manager plays a key role in supporting Waiakea’s growth by expanding account coverage, building strong customer relationships, and executing retail programs across assigned territories. This role supports the VP of Sales through field execution, merchandising, securing new placements, and maintaining brand standards in-store. The ideal candidate is highly self-directed, energetic, relationship-oriented, and motivated to grow sales in a fast-paced environment. The Area Sales Manager will report directly to the VP of Sales.
This position is fully remote with occasional travel requirements. Candidates must reside in Hawaii, Texas, or Arizona.

Essential Job Functions:
Support the achievement of sales, distribution, and display goals within the assigned territory. Visit retail accounts to ensure proper product placement, pricing, and shelf standards. Build and maintain relationships with store managers, buyers, and distributor partners. Identify and pursue new account opportunities across Grocery, C-Store, and On-Premise channels. Execute retail programs, merchandising plans, and promotional activations as directed by the VP of Sales. Support, Reporting & Cross-Functional Collaboration
Maintain communication with distributor route drivers and Area Sales Managers to support inventory flow, rotation, and in-store availability. Ensure distributors are equipped with POS materials and product knowledge. Monitor inventory, out-of-stocks, and competitive activity; elevate issues as needed. Use sales platforms to track priorities, placements, and distribution gaps. Submit weekly recaps, market insights, and progress reports. Ensure all Waiakea products meet brand standards for facings, placement, and promotional visibility. Work collaboratively with internal teams, including Sales, Marketing, Logistics, Operations, and Finance, to support account needs and customer satisfaction. Participate in promotional events, category resets, and special projects as needed.
Requirements
1-2 years of sale, merchandising, or customer-facing experience preferred. Experience in CPG, beverage, or DSD environment is a plus. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with sales reporting tools preferred. Strong analytical capabilities to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and make informed decisions. Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams, build consensus, and drive results; strong knowledge of servant leadership models and methods. Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels. Passion for sustainability and community is a big plus. Core Values:
