Account Manager

to join our lifestyle team in New York. You will have about 5‑6 years of experience working across a variety of consumer brands in beauty, lifestyle, and pop culture, and a passion for creating unique narratives to reach a wide range of audiences. Your media diet includes everything from The Today Show to the NYT Styles section, and BuzzFeed to People Magazine. You have a point of view about how Gen Z beauty standards are changing the industry and how DTC models are disrupting the traditional beauty landscape. While you will work primarily on beauty, you can also touch health, wellness, fashion and other lifestyle accounts, growing your skills across verticals.

Responsibilities

Leading national and local fashion, beauty and lifestyle campaigns that touch various client teams (including consumer, non‑profit, corporate, etc.)

Developing and executing comprehensive communications strategies that take complex issues and package them for general consumers.

Considered a thought‑leader of sorts for the agency and clients.

Managing complex client issues and seeing the client through stressful situations that require thoughtful counsel.

Leading client accounts and conducting media trainings for Sunshine Sachs clients, top executives, and celebrities.

Partnering and collaborating with SADs and VPs throughout the agency on integrated (and bi‑coastal) accounts.

Leading new business meetings and creating proposals as needed.

Training and mentoring junior staff on the inner workings and executions of current policies, social good movements and campaigns, PR, media relations, and overall work approach.

Responding to client requests and ensuring they are taken care of efficiently.

Supporting administration of accounts, including developing agendas, meeting recaps, activity reports, client status reports and budget trackers.

Qualifications

At least 5‑6 years working in PR with specific experience in communications, fashion, beauty, health, luxury, lifestyle public relations, integrated media relations, and strategic media planning.

Demonstrated success securing top‑tier press placements that impact the client’s bottom line.

A strategic partner with internal and external stakeholders, able to think outside the box to create insightful and impactful media moments.

A strong writer—persuasive, concise, creative, and quick.

Well‑rounded understanding of consumer/lifestyle/fashion/beauty marketing.

Confidence in pitching new business; excellent decision‑making abilities and accountability.

An innate curiosity and entrepreneurial spirit.

Incredibly organized, detail oriented, and able to excel at managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Willingness to work select evenings/weekends and travel when necessary.

Enjoys over‑delivering rather than meeting expectations and takes genuine pride in being part of something good.

Nice to Have

Solid relationships in hospitality and a passion for building and growing business in that space.

Interests beyond fashion and beauty—e.g., documentaries, tech, experiential museums.

Previous experience managing teams in multiple locations.

Compensation $77,500 - $90,000 a year
