Regional Sales Manager – Central Region
Join Roadrunner, a leading LTL carrier, to manage and grow a team of Account Executives that drive contribution margin and exceed sales KPIs.
Responsibilities
Lead, motivate and hold accountable a team of Account Executives to consistently achieve regional contribution margin goals through disciplined sales execution, active field engagement and data‑driven management.
Develop and coach new and tenured Account Executives through regular one‑on‑one sessions, structured training programs and frequent ride‑alongs.
Drive pipeline rigor by ensuring each Account Executive maintains a balanced mix of new business, retention and growth opportunities while consistently leveraging Zoho CRM for accurate tracking and forecasting.
Analyze market dynamics to anticipate customer needs, identify competitive threats and uncover emerging opportunities, translating insights into actionable territory strategies.
Build and nurture strategic relationships with key customers and prospects, jointly supporting Account Executives in expanding profitable accounts.
Collaborate closely with the Regional Director for territory alignment and execution of growth initiatives.
Champion Roadrunner’s brand promise of reliability, precision and speed, reinforcing industry leadership.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives that elevate sales effectiveness, optimize CRM use, run contests and enhance the overall customer experience.
Model integrity, urgency and accountability, fostering a high‑performance culture defined by ownership, collaboration and measurable success.
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of transportation sales experience.
LTL experience strongly preferred.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Minimum 3 years of prior sales management experience.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Strong knowledge of geographic area, competition and economic trends.
Ability to travel 50 % of the time within the region.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Daily outside travel to make sales calls in any weather.
Light physical activity performing non‑strenuous daily activities of an administrative nature.
Regular outside sales calls in any weather; can be subject to wet or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold and outdoor weather.
Overnight travel (up to 50 %) by land and/or air required.
May encounter slippery conditions or other hazardous footing.
Compensation
$100,000 to $110,000 per year.
