The Role The Sales Team Manager leads and supports Centralized Sales Associates on the Community Support Team, overseeing the entire centralized sales process for communities participating in the Flexible Touring and Sales Program (FTSP). The manager provides motivation, coaching, and performance monitoring to meet sales targets and service levels. Clinical tasks include auditing phone calls, emails, and guest card notes; providing weekly feedback; managing queue completion rates and past‑due items; and developing corrective strategies. The Manager collaborates with on‑site teams, Senior Sales Associates, and business partners to ensure smooth operations, communicates performance to senior management, and leads RevOps calls to provide insights and coordinate new sales strategies.
Technical Requirements
Hybrid role: required in‑office work during the week with weekend hours remote.
Home Equipment And Workspace Requirement
Hard‑wired desktop provided by AvalonBay, no Wi‑Fi usage. Minimum internet speed 25 Mbps down/up.
Dedicated ergonomic workspace with at least two monitors, free of distractions, set up at the employee’s cost.
Equipment cannot be moved without manager and HR approval; managers receive a laptop for work‑related travel.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Effective team leadership and excellent communication and organizational skills, motivating both in‑person and remote/hybrid teams.
Proficient in managing remote teams, providing constructive coaching, and monitoring performance to ensure goals are met.
Strong sales and customer service skills with a proven track record of surpassing sales goals.
Collaborative teamwork, fostering a positive and cohesive environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and technology platforms for communication, sales, and data management.
Excellent time‑management skills, thriving in fast‑paced environments with minimal supervision.
Clear written and verbal communication, including group presentations and report generation.
Strong problem‑solving abilities, independently resolving issues and performing basic arithmetic calculations.
Ability to adapt to major changes and new work structures.
Exceptional attention to detail in managing tasks, projects, and data with accuracy.
Willingness to work a flexible schedule and maintain responsiveness during scheduled hours.
Education
Required: High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field, or in lieu of a degree, a proven history of progressive responsibility and supervisory roles.
Experience
At least 3 years of property management and/or sales experience.
Or 2 years of proven track record leading a team, or 1 year of experience performing sales and/or renewal tasks for AvalonBay.
Preferred: Management experience in a contact call center or shared services environment.
