Structural Project Manager focused on cold-formed steel (CFS)
to join our dynamic team.
Responsibilities
Mentor and manage Structural Designers I, II, Design Engineers, and Project Engineers.
Manage production of drawings, specifications, and calculations throughout project lifecycle.
Review deliverables to ensure scope and quality standards are met.
Develop comprehensive plans defining objectives, scope, deliverables, and timelines.
Manage completion of construction administration tasks, including shop drawing review, RFI response, and site visits.
Oversee development of structural designs and analytical models for various building types, focusing on CFS.
Perform and review calculations and analyses to ensure compliance with building codes, especially CFS related codes.
Utilize CAD software, including Tekla Structures, and other tools to create 2D drawings and 3D models.
Manage team members, assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure effective collaboration and communication.
Collaborate with external stakeholders such as architects, contractors, and MEP designers.
Manage project design meetings, set agendas, take notes, and provide meeting minutes.
Stay updated with industry trends, code updates, and advancements in structural design techniques and technologies by participating in professional development.
Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost optimization, and efficiency enhancement to drive continuous improvement.
Monitor project costs, track expenses, and manage the project budget including monthly status reports.
Invoice and pursue payment. Identify and pursue change orders as appropriate due to modifications to scope, budget or schedule.
Provide mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities to team members, promoting growth and technical proficiency.
Required Skills And Abilities
In-depth knowledge of structural engineering principles, codes, and standards.
Familiarity with structural design and analysis, materials, and construction techniques.
Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the company for CFS framing.
Critical thinking, problem analysis, solution proposal, and informed decision-making.
Excellent verbal and written communication for collaboration with stakeholders.
Clear conveyance of complex technical information and stakeholder expectation management.
Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize and lead multiple projects simultaneously.
Keen eye for detail ensuring accuracy and quality in design plans and documentation.
Team collaboration, active listening, negotiation, conflict resolution skills.
Adaptive, informed decision-making, and adjustment to unexpected challenges.
Proficiency in relevant software and tools such as CAD.
Commitment to stay updated with industry trends, new technologies, and regulatory changes related to CFS.
Proficiency in project management planning, organizing, and executing from start to finish.
Comprehensive project planning, resource allocation, budget management, and timely completion.
In-depth knowledge of financial and budget management principles for effective decision-making.
Education And Experience
Minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Engineering with a Structural focus.
Master’s degree in Structural Engineering preferred.
Professional Engineer (PE) license. Structural Engineer (SE) license preferred. Maintain NCEES record for licensure.
Eight years of experience in building structural engineering field. At least five years of experience related to CFS design.
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit or stand at a desk and work from a computer for prolonged periods.
Ability to travel to perform site visits at various project locations around the country.
Ability to lift a minimum of 15 pounds if needed.
Location: Nashville, TN
Compensation: $62,000.00-$66,000.00 (Nashville) $116,000.00-$166,000.00 (Gallatin)
