Job Overview
Legacy Coop is looking for a
Sales Agronomist
to join our Scottsbluff, NE team. In this full‑time position you will build strong relationships with growers, assess their needs, and recommend the best crop inputs and management practices to enhance productivity and profitability. The role includes a competitive pay structure and a full benefits package (retirement, 401K, holiday, vacation, and sick time). While some travel is required, the position is
on-site/in person
so the ideal candidate lives in or near Scottsbluff, Nebraska.
Responsibilities
Gain in‑depth knowledge and insight of assigned customers’ initiatives, goals, and strategies through regular interaction with all levels within the customer’s operation, including the customer’s business drivers, strategy, and buying practices.
Develop regular sales call strategies with assigned customers and prospects.
Record sales calls in a manner chosen by management to achieve accountability and maintain a record for future reference.
Know and use all resources necessary to make proper recommendations and applications of products and services sold, and follow up on your recommendations.
Communicate with management to develop and enhance the performance of Legacy Coop and to gather and share information on competition and market trends.
Work with appropriate employees/management to help maintain delivery schedules by communicating product needs in advance of application with Operations Manager so supplies are on hand.
Work with management to develop marketing plans that will help achieve sales and margin goals.
Use all resources necessary to
cross‑sell
and identify and promote an increase in market share with current customers.
Keep an open line of communication with the operations team for optimum customer service and satisfaction.

Observe and enforce all safety requirements and company policies including credit policy.
Work closely with operation and accounting teams to invoice products and services timely and accurately.
Attend continuing education opportunities and safety meetings, and perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Certifications, License, Registrations Must have a valid driver's license that meets MVR standards of the company. A commercial driver's license with class C and hazmat endorsement is a plus; Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) certification is preferred (or the ability to obtain one). A degree from an accredited agriculture‑related program is required (experience may count as education).
Physical Demands The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
