Summary
The primary responsibility will be to grow current business and solicit new business through lead generation. The catering sales manager will promptly reply to incoming leads, actively and aggressively solicit new catering customers and identify key sales targets in all sectors. Other essential duties include booking, selling, planning and coordinating all catering events while exceeding expectations. This position will provide best in class customer service to retain clients and encourage client referrals. This role will also serve a convention services manager on occasion based on workload of the group sales department. Identify and target new business leads to build a solid sales pipeline.
Essential Duties
Employ creative sales tactics to generate leads in a variety of ways
Monitor event space to maximize all available dates
Generate optimum revenue through room rental and food & beverage menus
Generate revenue; meet or exceed revenue goals
Attend networking and industry events to garner sales leads and increase brand awareness
Be aware of event opportunities generated by local events, planners, etc.
Effectively communicate with catering partner, QED, to create menus, coordinate setup and tear down
Generate detailed BEO's with all details for catering staff; update in main BEO book and communicate changes through established guidelines
25 % serving of group events as well rooms only blocks.
Prepare event resumes for ALL booked events to properly convey event details to the operations staff
Work with the accounting department Ensure all invoices and payments are submitted timely
Qualifications
Previous Catering/Sales Experience required
Solid judgement & decision-making skills
Highly resourceful team-player
Ability to organize and prioritize deadline-driven tasks
Detail-oriented task manager
High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel
Experience in Envision and Opera software a strong plus
