Diplomat Motors is seeking a disciplined, process-driven
Sales Manager
to lead, coach, and scale our retail sales operation across one of our rooftops. This role is responsible for driving consistent execution on the floor, improving lead-to-sale conversion, enforcing processes, and developing sales reps into high-performing professionals.
This is not a “sit-in-the-office” role. You will be on the floor daily—coaching calls, structuring deals, desking effectively, and holding the team accountable to standards.
Responsibilities Sales Floor Leadership & Execution
Lead daily sales operations and manage the showroom floor
Desk deals with a focus on gross, structure, and lender fit
Ensure every customer follows the defined sales process (in-store & remote)
Actively assist with TOs, objections, and deal saves
Maintain urgency, professionalism, and pace on the floor
Lead Management & Conversion
Oversee lead distribution and follow-up execution
Ensure sales reps hit daily activity standards (calls, texts, emails)
Improve appointment show rate and lead-to-sale conversion
Coordinate with BDC to ensure clean handoffs and accountability
Coaching, Training & Accountability
Train sales reps on scripts, objection handling, trade appraisals, and soft closes
Run daily huddles, call reviews, and live roleplay
Conduct weekly 1:1s focused on performance, skill gaps, and growth plans
Hold reps accountable to KPIs, process, and professionalism
Partner closely with Finance to structure clean, fundable deals
Ensure accurate deal jackets and smooth handoff to F&I and Admin
Work with Recon and Inventory teams to align pricing and availability
Protect CSI and customer experience throughout the deal lifecycle
Reporting & Performance Management
Track and report daily and monthly sales KPIs
Identify performance gaps and implement corrective actions quickly
Drive improvement in front-end gross, close rate, and time-to-sale
Qualifications
3–7+ years of automotive sales management experience (independent dealer preferred)
Proven ability to coach, lead, and hold sales teams accountable
Strong desking, TO, and deal-structuring skills
Experience with CRM/DMS systems (DealerCenter experience a plus)
High energy, disciplined, and execution-focused
Excellent communication and leadership presence
Comfortable in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment
Compensation
$175,000 - $250,000 yearly

In just 5 years, we’ve grown into two high-performing locations, consistently selling 140+ vehicles per month with strong margins. We are building for expansion, with a 3rd store planned within the next year and a 4th shortly after.
